Aviation is among the industries that invest the most to lower emissions produced at all levels. Several changes that may reshape the way passengers travel are studied to meet a net zero European Union by 2050.
The ClimOP project has analysed a set of operational improvements that may help different stakeholders to reduce their impact on climate and air quality around airports. The analysis carried out by the EU-funded project took also into account air passengers’ opinions about some of the changes that may come into effect in the upcoming years.
The results of this analysis show that air passengers are often willing to support operational improvements that aim to cut the climate impact of aviation. Although the results collected from the survey on air passengers’ opinions don’t wish to be definitive, they may show how a specific, but still reasonably broad group of EU citizens are willing to contribute to greener aviation.
